Tournoi sources for papers, projects, education, etc

I missed out on seeing the Tournoi this year but will try to see it next time. I’m finding as many photos as possible and will make a folder for students and others to browse through and learn from. This is where a vertical file comes in. I’m printing information and photos and placing them into one single folder. A person can sit down at a table in the library and read, learn, and make copies for reports, research, or simply to educate themselves about a local event in Evangeline Parish.

A list of sources is also helpful; for example, a person can be informed that the main library in Ville Platte has the Gazette on microfilm going back several years and copies can be made of old articles and photos. Teachers can send their students to the library to work on a project about their area and the kids will have the sources ready for them.

I mentioned some of these sites before and there is a “temporary new one” -- The smugmug.com site will have pictures of the Tournoi up for a limited time because they need the space. I’ll put the main link and then you can type tournoi in the search field; the photos taken are great.

The Louisiana Digital Library site works the same way; simply type tournoi in the search field for pictures.
