The Evangeline Parish Police Jury meeting will be in French today, the last meeting of the year. The jurors decided to hold the final meeting in French for tradition and for the many French speaking people in the parish. Tom Bonnette covered the story for the Town Talk two years ago but I can’t find an online link to it. You can, however, read the article if you have Internet access and a Louisiana library card. Visit the Louisiana Library Connection Database site, choose the parish you have a card with, and then type the barcode. The Newsbank database is the one to use in this case.
