cabane

Cabane is a word we still use often.  Again, I wonder why some words fell out of popular use and some remained.  Boudin, cabane, aigrette, tracas, frissons, etc.  I like listening to my parents talking.  I'm learning a lot of words this way.  I also learned that Hebert in French sounds more like A-baar.  Guillory sounds like giddy but with some r's.  I also learned that if you say en Ville, you mean New Orleans, aux village means Opelousas and la Ville means Ville Platte.  That's the case around here I guess.  Where did you buy that char? Aux village.  Oh, OK, I didn't know they had new Challengers in Opelousas.
