I went to Floyd’s yesterday buy some CDs. I looked for Rocky McKeon’s Isle Dernier band
but they don’t carry it. They might
have it in Lafayette but I might have to just order it online. I don’t like putting my credit card info on
the Internet. I don’t even use my debit
card that much. I always use cash. But you can get a T-shirt and the CD has
English translations to the songs. And I
think he includes the French spellings too so you can learn how to write. Not a bad idea at all! I have outlaw country music in my char but
also listen to Pantera, Iron Maiden, etc.
Traditional Cajun music is "country" so some rock would be nice. I did buy Nathan Abshire and the Pinegrove
Boys greatest hits and Pilette Breakdown by the Lost Bayou Ramblers. Prairie Femme said the Lost Bayou Ramblers
were an awesome group and she’s right. I
read some articles where they sported mohawks and put on a show that looked
like a rock group playing. They’re
smart. They appeal to younger
people. They get younger people
interested in speaking French and their Louisiana culture. That’s not a bad idea at all. I'm turning gray so some blusey Abshire music sounds good to me too.
