"Jesus said, 'the light cannot be hidden under the bushel basket...' and that is what I think of...!" said, Louisiana French Creole scholar and author, and Ville Platte, Louisiana native John la Fleur II, when asked recently about if he'd ever imagined obtaining such an international platform of publicity for his last two hardcover books.
A review of John's now classic, A Cultural Legacy CREOLE Gourmet Secrets of Louisiana, 2010 and Louisiana's French Creole Culinary & Linguistic Traditions: Facts vs. Fiction Before And Since Cajunization, 2013 is expected to appear in the January 2014 edition of London, England based KREOL International Magazine.
The editor and CEO of KREOL International Magazine, Ms. Georgina Dhillon and her photographer visited, and lunched with John at his historic Creole plantation guesthouse in Washington, Louisiana where she interviewed him and other self-identified Louisiana French Creoles such as Louis and Ashlee Michot last summer.
Ms. Dhillon was so impressed with John's work and numerous Facebook essays that she just had to fly out and meet him. After the interview, she asked John if he would consider being a correspondent for KREOL International Magazine. Of course, John was quite honored at the request and has, in fact, supplied the magazine with rich content focused upon Louisiana's unique people and culture.
