Love the French

Bonsoir. J'ai la grippe. Well, I think it's the flu. It floored me, whatever it is. I'm feeling better now but I haven't been outside since Monday evening. I worked Monday morning, went to Ville Platte for a check in the afternoon, and then I was attacked. I crawled into bed as a major war began inside my body. It made me delirious with all the damn freezing, coughing, and painful joints. And then watching shows like Jerry Springer while on medication made me feel like I was losing my mind. I didn't have cable available but I needed some TV distraction. So I watched a lot of crap like Jerry Springer to pass the time. It was miserable, but OK, yep, I laughed often.
Anyway, I'm feeling better. Damn grippe leaving me alone. I read this online article by Charles A. Coulombe, Learning to Love the French, and think it's good. It explores the reasons many Americans dislike France, history of the French people in America, and many more things. Read it. I hate saying what something is when it's right there to see for yourself. There's one thing in the article that made me think how it's always portrayed as Acadians being the only Franco people settling on the prairie and country areas, while Creoles only settled and lived in New Orleans:
"Many of the Acadians found their way there, and in after years settled the hitherto empty bayous and prairies of that region, becoming the famed Cajuns. The pre-existing French population, alongside their Black mixed-blood descendants and relatives, came to be called Creoles, and regarded themselves as aristocratic urbanites, and opposed to their bumpkinish rural countrymen."
Oh well, it's still a good article with a lot of interesting thoughts and information.

That's it for me. It's been real. I used to talk about this subject on forums and with people and several found it annoying. Evangel...
