Guillory connections

Dad wrote down some Guillory information showing Mom how they were related on the Guillory side but it wasn’t close.  I have a good friend in Avoyelles Parish and we wondered about that too because her Mom is a Guillory.  I guess we are because it looks like one Guillory came here.  I don’t know how accurate this is but here we go: Simon Guillory was born in Blois, France.  He went to Quebec.  His son, Francois, was born there.  Francois went down to Mobile and his son, Joseph Gregoire, was born near Mobile.  Joseph then went to Louisiana after the British took over the Mobile area.  We’re from two of his sons, Jean Baptist Guillory (He went to Avoyelles) and Jean Louis Guillory (He went to Grand Prairie).

I wonder if Arcade Guillory was named that because Emelie Pitre was an Acadian.  Maybe it was just a popular name at the time.  I also wonder why Landreneau kept the “eau” in their name and Fontenot didn’t.

That's it for me. It's been real. I used to talk about this subject on forums and with people and several found it annoying. Evangel...
