I asked Dad how we’re related on the Fontenot side. He said there were many connections just on
his side. Dad is connected mainly with the La Rose clan
and Mom is connected mainly with the Jaco clan.
I’m sure this is common in Evangeline Parish. Most people got some Fontenot in them
here. I talked with a Fontenot dude at
the Y and he told me has to date girls outside the parish because otherwise he
learns the catin is his cousin. But we’re
all pretty much related around here going way back so it shouldn't be too much of a big deal. And then it's not just the Fontenots. Guillory, Vidrine, Ardoin, Soileau, Brignac, Berzas, Deville... Mom has more Fontenot connections on her line than Dad.
