Lemoine Berzas Juneau Gagnard Sanmarine

Dad gave me these connections in our family.  I put those five names in the title of my post because they all connect.  Most of our ancestors were military people but Dad said he wasn't sure, except for Jacques Gagnard.  All of these people have stories and if someone comes across this note and has information to share, let me know.   Let me know also if something is inaccurate.  Dad told me that one of Claude Juneau’s cousins settled in Alaska and the city is named after him.  He’s not sure if that’s true.  Many, if not all, of these people were Pointe Coupee settlers.  The families then went to Avoyelles, St. Landry and the Evangeline Parish areas.  These people called themselves Créoles.

Guillaume Lemoine was from Normandy, France.  He was called “Le Normand.”
Marie Ann Sanmarine was from Palatinate, Germany.
Claude Juneau was from Montreal, Canada. (France)
Joseph Berzas was from Trois Rivieres, Canada. (France)
Jacques Gagnard came from France.
