John LaFleur’s new book

I read in today’s Gazette that John LaFleur is writing a book due out in the fall: My People: The Forgotten Creoles of the Prairie – Black and White.  I looked at the Gazette online but didn’t see it yet.  I’ll link to it later so you can read the article.  I’m glad John is writing this book.  It’s something long overdue.  I think it’s great and can’t wait to read it.  There will be a lot of history in it and it’ll be about our history.  We don’t have to adopt an Acadian mythology because we really don’t know a lot about our area.  We have our own history and cultural legacy.  And John is going to write about it.  Winston Deville will write the introduction.  That’s the coolest thing I read today.
