Somebody should write a children’s book about Fort Toulouse
and the French soldiers and people who lived there. Show how they eventually made their way
to Louisiana. The book could have animal
characters for little kids or realistic characters for older kids. Throw in some French words and expressions
used around Evangeline Parish. It would
be educational and fun. You could also
include a magical character for more fun.
The magical character could be shown magically changing the French soldiers into
Acadians. And the book would be
perfect. It would show historic reality
and also fun fantasy. Talk about a good
book. It's so much fun being Cajun, I mean Creole, no I mean Cajun, no, crap, Cajun, well, no, Creole, well could be Cajun, but no, no Acadian, well, yeah, but, OK, Creole then, well, Creole has new definition now, so, OK, Cajun then, but crap, no Acadian, well, I'm "white" so I guess Cajun, but still, no real Acadian heritage...
